Water & Sewer Departments

When paying online the following non-refundable fees are applied:
Transaction Range       Service Fee 
 $0.01- $50.00                    $1.50 
 $50.01- $75.00                  $1.75 
 $75.01- $100.00                $3.00 
 $100.01-$150.00               $5.00 
 $150.01-$200.00               $7.00

For each additional increment of $50.00, or portion thereof, add $1.75.
Water payments can be made online or  in person at City Hall. If after hours, payments may be placed in the drop box located next to the entrance door at City Hall and are due the 10th of each month. Any payments received after the 10th will be considered late and be assessed a 10% penalty.

Drinking Water

We work with the Minnesota Department of Health to test drinking water for more than 100 contaminants. It is not unusual to detect contaminants in small amounts. No water supply is ever completely free of contaminants. Drinking water standards protect Minnesotans from substances that maybe harmful to their health. This report contains the results from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. 

Building Permits

The City of Cass Lake requires building permits for many home repair/improvement projects. Our building official, Andy Sharpe can be contacted for any questions at 320-219-1145. Please stop in at City Hall for the application and to pay required fees. ​

Business Licenses

Many types of Businesses need to be licensed by the city in order to operate. Please follow the link for the types and fees associated with each one. Stop in or call for more information.

Rental Registration

City ordinance requires all rental homes to be registered and inspected with the City every two years. Complete the required application and turn it in with all applicable fees to City Hall.

Animal Control

Visit the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department's Facebook page for pictures of found dogs. To claim your dog please call City Hall at 218-335-2238. 

Fees: $15 each day and if you are in the City Limits you will be required to have your dog(s) registered with the City. Please call for additional information and fees.
